The Integrated Social Development Centre (ISODEC)has urged West Africa states to leverage the rising global demand for critical minearals to drive the sub-regions development.
According to ISODEC and other civil society groups within the sub- region, the increasing demand for minerals such us Cobalt, Nickel, Manganese, Lithium and real earth elements key inputs for low- carbon technologies presented a significant opportunity for industrialisation accross West Africa.
ISODEC made the call in a Communique issued at the end of a High- level West Africa Conference on Equity in Extraction: Addressing Inequality in Natural Resource Gevernance, Climate Change, held in Accra.
