Equity in Extraction Conference 2025 set for Accra, October 14–16

From October 14–16, 2025, policymakers, civil society leaders, researchers, and industry stakeholders are expected to converge at the Alisa Hotel in Accra for the Equity in Extraction Conference 2025.

Organised by the Integrated Social Development Centre (ISODEC) in partnership with International Development Economics Associates (IDEAs) and the National Development Planning Commission, with support from the Ford Foundation, this high-level conference aims to tackle a critical question for West Africa: Who truly benefits from the region’s vast natural resource wealth?

To be held on the theme:  ‘Addressing Inequalities in Natural Resources Governance, Critical Mineral Resources and Climate Change,’ the three-day convening will provide a platform for dialogue on strategies to ensure that resource extraction benefits local communities, protects the environment, and contributes to long-term sustainable development.

The conference will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and collaborative workshops designed to shape actionable policies and foster partnerships that promote equity across extractive industries.

The upcoming conference builds on the 2022 High-Level Conference which focused on the nexus between resource governance and inequalities.

Organisers have urged stakeholders to “save the date and be part of the change,” encouraging participants to register via the official link: https://bit.ly/equityWA25
